Land Rover DC100 Sport in Frankfurt Motor Show


As long as six decades are the time of the Defender’s lifespan in which it had its first launch in the past 1949.
Land Rover has built a host of version and it has been updated in many times.
Now this is the time for a brand- new model to show off. The company has toke a step by introducing two concepts at the same time at the Frankfurt Motor Show,
those are DC100 and DC100 Sport. Both of them are arranged to have a launch in 2015.
Over years the defender was well-known of its simplicity and its distinctive design. The DC100 model comes in the fixed-roof form while the DC100 Sport is the open- top version.
Both models share the same platform the three- abreast classic Defender seating arrangement and tech bits.
The models have been equipped with the Terrain-I scanning device which warn drivers of obstacles when off-roading, Wade Aid sonar which works to examine water depth and inform the
driver the right speed, and a spike tire system which can be activate by simply touching a button.
Beside those three very modern equipments, there are still other features found in the car such as the new feature Terrain Response system which enable the car to change the drivetrain
mode and suspension settings in order to maximize the car’s performance on any condition.
The DC100 is empowered by a 2.0 liter four cylinder turbocharged diesel engine, while the DC100 Sport is more powerful sported by the same petrol unit with the same displacement.
The company claims that both units are able to be set as parallel or plug-in hybrids.
The DC100 and the open- top DC100 Sport are both available with an eight- speed automatic transmission and a permanent four-wheel drive system with a Driveline Disconnect feature that
mates the rear axle when AWD isn’t needed in order to improve fuel consumption.
