Ford Previews Customized Explorer At 2011  SEMA

For his Explorers, Ford called the guys at Stitch Craft Interiors, glass DSO and Tjin, and left with three very different concepts. Stitch Craft a theme of his vehicle a “Business Edition”, adding lots of leather and Alcantara upholstery, Orion audio car stereo, and a custom paint scheme for outside Sun Collision. ASM vehicle glass is much more fashionable, pick up a kit lowered suspension, 24-inch wheels, a white pearl paint and covered with Katzkin leather interior. Finally, Chin adds an industrial look with the Explorer 24-inch wheels, LED headlights LightWurkz, Eibach springs, upgraded brakes and Baer. As with custom pickups, two F-150S and two F-350 Super Duty models at SEMA to greet the participants. Their changes include suspension kits to lift, scissor doors, and everything else.
The all-new Explorer rides on a platform derived from the D3 platform monocoque of the car manufacturer rather than a separate part of the outgoing model. Significantly updated based on the first platform debuted, now underpins the Taurus, Flex, Lincoln MKS and Volvo XC90, in addition to the new Ford Explorer. With a road-oriented fully independent suspension and Ford first “intelligent” four-wheel drive, the Explorer is not likely that the body-on-frame Toyota 4Runner or similar methods based on unibody Jeep Grand Cherokee challenge for bravery in the way. Instead, explorers V6 equipped with a control button of the land management system based on the same former subsidiary of Ford Land Rover. With the snow, sand, mud and normal modes of the system requires only the push of a button to the right systems in place of the explorer all-wheel drive and stability control for different types of terrain. The system will also be a method in downhill road for maneuvering at low speeds off.
