Cadillac ATS pose a direct rival to BMW 3 Series
Since the last decade Cadillac, which is considered as the largest auto makers has been making significant improvement in its entire product range for a new brand identity. After a long wait this time at the Detroit auto show has the GM luxury division has made all its home work to unveil its latest model ATS, which will pose a direct competition to the BMW 3 series.
The ATS series will be customized for the customers. In fact consumer will have the privilege to choose between 4-cylinder, turbo 4-cylinder or V6 as per their desire. Equipped with the Caddy claiming the ATS model will matches solid power with one of the lowest curb weights in the segment. Apart from that weight reduction has been a key feature of the latest ATS model. In the return it helps to maximize the performance and efficiency. Each and every component of the vehicle was checked in order to ensure if a lighter alternative could be found.
Aluminum hood, magnesium engine mounts and “natural-fiber” has been the USP of this model. In fact consumers have the advantage of 51/49 weight distribution with this model. Front suspension and the brand’s first 5-link has been installed to make the journey most comfortable. Both automatic and manual transmissions are available with the ATS model.
Adjustable Magnetic Ride Control is installed to make it more efficient in terms of energy consumption. a ZF variable electric steering system and 17-inch wheels is available with the model which you will rarely find with the super cars. Consumers can take the advantage of 2.5-liter 4-cylinder making 200 hp and 188 lb-ft of torque with the ATS. The engine is capable of delivering 270 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque from just 2400 rpm. However the model can reach a top level direct injection of 3.6L V6 makes 318 hp and 267 lb-ft.
