Lexus take the hybrid variant which may be known as the GS 450h to debut at the 64th International Auto Show in Frankfurt, after launched the new gasoline GS 350 at the Pebble Beach

Concours d’Elegance in California.

The Lexus GS 450h is built based on the fourth generation design and empowered by a 3.5 liter V6 Atkinson cycle petrol engine which produces output of 290 hp.

when the unit mated to the two motor hybrid system, it delivers the total system output of 343 hp at 6,000 rpm and 345 Nm or 255 lb-ft at 4,600 rpm peak of torque.

Power is delivered through a six speed sequential- shift E- CVT to the rear wheels.

The 2011 Lexus GS 450h has received improvements in every part of its body. as the result its second- generation Lexus Hybrid Drive system delivers considerable reduction in fuel

consumption, CO2 emission, NOx and PM emissions but still retaining its performance which is on the same level with that of the V8- powered rivals.

The Japanese company claimed that the GS 450h Europe version is able to accelerate from standstill to 100 km/ h or 62 mph in 5.9 seconds, reaching its top speed of 250 km/ h. the average

fuel consumption in Europe driving cycle has been reduced by 18% to 6.3 lt/ 100km or around 37.3mpg US or 44.8mpg UK. The CO2 emissions have been reduced as well to less than 145 g/

km.

New distinguishing technologies complete the GS 450h in its debut, including an energy saving air conditioning system which is claimed to be more powerful yet delivers down power

consumption compared to that of the previous system. A second- generation Remote Touch Interface (RII) connected to a huge 12.3 inch multi- information display screen.

The GS 450h has the same whole length compared to the previous model. However the front overhang is now 10mm shorter, the rear overhang is 10 mm longer and 30 mm taller.

In addition the front track is increased by 40mm and the rear track increased by 50mm. the overall width of the track has been increased by 20mm.

the luggage capacity of the GS 450h has been increased by 55% to 465 liters.
